Inauguration Day: The Death of the Civil Rights Movement

Today we celebrate history in the making, as the first non-American citizen is sworn in as our 44th President. This only one day before the Supreme Court will hear testimony and see evidence that proves that Barrack Hussein Obama has no authentic birth certificate. That the state of Hawwaii has no record of his mother ever giving birth to a child in any hospital. That he was ,as a child, a citizen of Indeonesia, yet never filed for citizenship when returning to America after his Muslim education was finished.

Now, some may feel insulted after seeing that I refuse to acknowledge him as the "First African-American President" in our history, but I will tell you the truth ... that one day we will say that this man's presidency killed the Civil Rights Movement in America.

First of all, to address those who feel I may be some racist nut who doesn't want a Black president, let me begin with saying that I would be fine with a JC Watts or Alan Keyes presidency. As ML King once said, and we were reminded yesterday, "that one day we can all be judged by our character, not by the color of our skin". And the word "character" is at the root of my contempt for Obama.

It is a lack of character that allows this man to deceive America (Black America in particular) that he is "their president". We will find that he is a selfish and savvy politician that will become all things to all men in order to acheive his goals. In truth, he is no more "black" than I am, and as far as I'm concerned (or until he answers the petition of thousands by proving his citizenship) is less of an American than us all.

Consider this:
Obama is no more black than he is white. His mom was white, he was raised by white grandparents, he went to white schools and lived in white neighborhoods. He has never experienced the struggles or culture of "Black America".

One day, a black man born of 2 black parents will be elected as our president. He will know the struggles of living in a black neighborhood with a black family, and going to black schools. He will know the struggles of living in Black America. He will be a true evangelical Christian who lives the values and character that King preached of.
Yet, he will be denied the history making noteriety that he deserves.

Star Parker: Obama Has Little in Common with Lincoln

Obama has little in common with Lincoln

It's ironic that Barack Obama chooses to infuse these opening days of his presidency with the imagery of Abraham Lincoln.

I don't think there could be two more different men. Understanding why may help us think about what to expect in the days ahead.

Beyond his trademark "change we can believe in," Mr. Obama's defining theme has been unity and inclusiveness. "… there's not a liberal America and a conservative America – there's the United States of America. … We worship an awesome God in the Blue States … and have gay friends in the Red States."

Mr. Obama, of course, does not suggest that we don't have differences. His point is that those differences are not critically important, and they're getting in our way. Let's put differences aside, get practical and solve our problems.

The inaugural ceremonies have pastors for everyone: a white evangelical who opposes same sex marriage, a white homosexual, a left-wing black male and a left-wing black female.

(Column continues below)

His economic stimulus plan has large government expenditures to please Democrats and tax benefits to please Republicans.

Lincoln, too, sought unity. But Lincoln's notion of where national unity would lie was far different from Obama's.

He prophetically stated the challenge after accepting the Republican nomination for the presidency in 1858.

"A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure half slave and half free. I do not expect the union to be dissolved. I do not expect the House to fall. But I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other."

As historian Harry Jaffa points out, " For Lincoln, as for Jefferson and for all genuine supporters of the principles of the Declaration of Independence, the distinction between right and wrong is antecedent to any form of government and is independent of any man's or any majority's will."

Lincoln knew that some principles are so fundamental they cannot be compromised. He knew that we couldn't ignore our key differences. Unity could only come from facing them and making the hard choices.

He knew that even though there were competing religious claims on the issue of slavery – some found biblical sanction in it – we would still have to choose and decide who we are.

As Americans killed each other, he observed, "Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God. … The prayers of both could not be answered."

We have many Americans today who read the same Bible but see the truths that define this country very differently. And, of course, we have Americans who do not see the Bible as relevant to those truths at all and those who would claim that there are no truths.

As Lincoln observed, the prayers of all cannot be answered. Unless we're resigned to meaninglessness, we must believe that our future will reflect today's choices.

On the hardest moral dilemma of his day, Abraham Lincoln stepped up to the plate and took a stand. He did not say that it was above his pay grade. And this is what makes Abraham Lincoln very different from Barack Obama.

Each time has its challenges. Americans feel betrayed by what they see as unethical behavior in American business and in Washington. Yet few seem to appreciate that moral problems lie at the root of our faltering economy.

Sanctity of life and sanctity of property are cut from the same cloth of eternal law. In the view of many, including me, it's this law that defines our free country.

Our new president, who sanctions both abortion and massive government intrusion into our economic lives, sees things very differently.

So let's not pretend these fundamental differences don't matter. How we choose will define our future. As Lincoln said, the nation "will become all one thing, or all the other."

2009 Oklahoma Republican Precinct Caucuses

Please make plans on your schedule to attend your local Republican Precinct Meeting on 1/27/09. You must attend this meeting to become a delegate in 2009, even if you were a delegate in 2008.

Delegates have the power to vote in County and State Conventions, where we will be choosing our new Party leaders and revamping the Republican brand. Delegates can also participate in state committee meetings, where our rules, credentials and platform are created. This process determines who we are and where we are going as a political party.

If you have been disgusted with the direction that the GOP has been going in, now is your chance to help improve it and keep it as conservative as possible.

The Republican delegate is the most important position in the Party, and any registered Republican can become a delegate if they attend this meeting. Don't miss this one.

With mass participation this year, we can push the issues of Faith Family and Freedom to the max in Oklahoma! ( It would also be a good idea to make sure we outnumber the various groups of liberals and nuts that attempt to hijack the party on occasion! )

We, the conservative delegates, are the guardians that keep the Republican Party pro-Life, pro-Marriage, and pro-Second Amendment. We can also offer ideas like the Fair Tax, the Human Life Amendment and other bold solutions to America's problems. Got some good ideas? Bring'em and get involved!

If you are not sure who your local precinct chairman is or how to contact them, call one of these numbers below:

If you have never been involved before, I can't encourage you enough to stand up and be counted. Every concerned, informed conservative voter should participate. Huckabee launches National Volunteer Team

Happy New Year!

I wanted to email you today to announce the launch of our National Volunteer Team. Our goal is to identify volunteers nationwide, organize into local groups in every county of the United States and then assist Huck PAC endorsed candidates.

We have divided the country into regions and will begin recruiting leadership in every state and county. Ultimately, these leaders will be responsible for building local volunteer teams, setting up events, organizing phone banks, knocking on doors and much more. Our goal is to have at least one Huck PAC group leader in every county in the nation by the end of 2009.

This is one part of our plans but is a very important part. We want to make a difference locally in the races of the candidates we are supporting (as we did with Saxby) and we believe having a volunteer team in place will make a big difference. We had a strong record of candidate support in 2008 but we weren't satisfied with the results.

Our country needs conservative leadership now more than ever. Important issues are at stake: tax reform, controlling spending, the 2nd Amendment, sanctity of life, traditional marriage and much more.

To join this team, please complete this volunteer form. If you are interested in making a difference and working with fellow conservatives in your community, I encourage you to sign up.

Our goal is to identify 500 volunteers by January 15 and build out from there. If you have friends that might be interested, ask them to join our team by visiting www.huckpacvolunteer.com.

After you signup, a National Volunteer Team Grassroots Coordinator for your state will contact you.

In 2009, we hope to be very active in the Virginia and New Jersey elections. In 2010, we will be ready to have a national impact on local races.

I am incredibly excited about this opportunity and I hope you are as well.

I will email you again very soon. In the meantime, please signup for the National Volunteer Team as a volunteer today.

With deep gratitude,

Mike Huckabee
